Dual Authentication for Sending/Receiving Mail using Eudora To set up your Eudora to send a different username for sending and receiving mail, you will need to create multiple personalities in Eudora - the Dominant one will send mail, the second personality will check mail. Follow these steps:
1. Go to Tools: Personalities:. A window will appear listing your Personalities.
2. Right click on the Dominant personality and select Properties.
3. Configure the Dominant personality as above. Enter your real name in the Real Name field, enter your email address in the Return Address field, enter your sending mail username in the Login Name field, and enter your outgoing mail server in the SMTP Server field. Make sure that the Check Mail box in the lower left hand corner is unchecked. Click OK when you're finished.
4. Right click in the Personalities window and choose New.
5. Configure this second Personality as above and name it (in our example, it's been named Retrieving). Enter your checking mail username in the Login Name field and the incoming mail server in the Server field. Also, make absolutely certain that the Check Mail box in the lower left hand corner is checked. Click OK when you're finished.
6. Go to Tools: Filters: - the Filters window will open.
7. Click on New to create a new filter. In the right hand window under Match, select Incoming and Manual. In the Header field, select Personality. Change the next window from Contains to Is. In the window adjacent to the Is window, select the second personality (in our example, Retrieving). Under Action, set it to Make Personality - Dominant, and then set it to Skip Rest. Close the window and save your changes.
8. That's it. Now your Eudora will use one username to check for mail and another username for sending mail.
